#12. Warren-Kiel Building

680 GRAND AVENUE

Henry Kiel and Henry Warren, with the financial backing from Jens Larson, built the Warren-Kiel block at this location.  The building housed the first Masonic Temple, the Bowen Rifles Regiment of the National Guard, the Grand Army of the Republic, and many businesses and professional people.  It became the Opera House and later the Princess Theater.  It was torn down and became a used car lot.  It is now the patio area for the building next door.
