#46. Galbreath Home

785 SPRUCE STREET

This home was built by Charles Galbreath of the Galbreath Tie and Timber, who, with his brothers, had businesses in South Fork and Del Norte, and had Torres Switch (siding) in the Swede Lane area built for a business there.  In 1926 J. W. Pickens of the famous 1926 Little Annie Gold Mine strike in Summitville bought, remodeled, and added onto the house.  His daughter Clara Vickers lived in part of the house.  Mrs. Vickers was one of the women who helped start the Rio Grande County Museum.
